A typical day at Brambles Childcare

Children arrive at different times throughout the morning. They have a variety of toys and games to choose from and they enjoy a selection of cereals, toast and fruit for breakfast, if required. Older children then go to school.

Free play indoors and/or outdoors. A selection of resources are available to meet the EYFS curriculum, including role play, construction, books and mark-making.

The children have a healthy snack together which is a great opportunity to practice our manners and have a lovely chat together. This is followed by circle time.

Our typical day allows for lots of flexibility to include each child’s individual needs and routines. For example we allow for sleep times throughout the day as required and when the weather is good we will spend lots of time outside and adapt the day to suit the changing interests of the group.

Please note: this is only a guide as we like to follow the childrens' lead as much as possible, so the day may vary.

Children enjoy a relaxing quiet time and/or have a nap if required. (Younger children sleep during the day in accordance with their individual routine.) Quiet time may include blankets, stories, television and relaxing music in a darkened and cosy atmosphere.

Older children are collected from their schools, some of the younger children get to go for a ride in the car to pick up their friends.

Free play indoors and/or outdoors and getting ready for tidy up time at the end of the day. Children go home at various times throughout the afternoon. We tidy away all of the toys together ready to play again tomorrow!

Children enjoy tea together, we often have tea outside, weather permitting. The older children are often involved in preparing the tea for example chopping fruit, making sandwiches and choosing ingredients. Children get involved with simple jobs like setting the table, pouring drinks and clearing up after tea.
